Behind The Name
Petrichor (peh-trikor):
“the smell of the earth after it rains”
In the Pacific Northwest, we experience all kinds of precipitation. To many of us, it is a calming experience that leaves our air smelling new and refreshed after a good rain. Petrichor was chosen to represent that feeling of renewal and contentment. This is the same focus and response that we want with each massage and all therapeutic touch.
I like to use words that signify an experience or state of being. This is because I want to create an experience of health and wellness, and comfort with every massage.
